I'm not sure I buy that we aren't big enough to produce our own when we are puchasing vaccines from other smaller countries that have production. Belgium is one of, if not the main vaccine prodcer in Europe and they have 1/3 our population
My understanding is our tax laws and incentives and all the other factors used when deciding where to base operations basically make it un-appealing for these companies to operate in Canada, so they don't.
We'll likely benefit from all the EU countries not renewing their AZ contracts and the US not approving it. Is that good or bad? I don't know, the government wants you to believe that a vaccine is a vaccine and anyone will do... but when so many other major countries abandon it then it makes you wonder.
I have very little trust in our current government when they say things although I'm well short of the conspiracy theories, theres no way they are co-ordinated enough to do some sort of complex plan on the masses :P
