Your political system has figured out the best way to get votes for one party or the other... to make the other party look bad. Biden barely did any work to make himself look good, at least Trump tried... But they both made more of a point of scaring Americans into voting for them and not the other.
I heard a lot of "In Biden's America, looting and rioting will be a part of everyday life" or "the Biden Marxist movement" ... trying to paint the most centrist guy on the ballot as a communist?
Biden didn't need any help making Trump look bad. What a dumpster fire that was. When you hire a guy like Giuliani to run your press conferences and legal battles, you're flailing.
