I hope you understand how ridiculous that sounds (and no I'm not paying for a WSJ sub. to read the rest of the article).

It's been known for a while that much of the planet will eventually get COVID. Some say up to 80% of people will get it at some point. The reason for the lockdown is to ensure that not everyone gets it at the same time so that hospitals can deal with it and not get overrun.

I truly believe, with a virus like COVID, that has an R-naught value of around 2 and a mortality rate in some countries at 5-10% that if we did NOTHING, that we would have lost a shit ton more lives. With no lock down the virus in New York would have quickly spread to other major cities and we'd be looking at hundreds of thousands of deaths by this point and a lot of it would be due to the health care systems being overrun. Just makes sense when you look at what has happened so far.
