WHO estimate is (currently) around 3% death rate but ultimately we'll never know, any verified % will be worst case scenarios because you can only count the ones that were actually tested/reported and estimates vary wildly on how many could actually be infected.
Some context, The last serious global pandemic Spanish Flu estimates were 17 - 50 million dead and 500 million infected (which at the time was about 25% of the world), in the end its all guesswork.
In todays media everythings about fear and sensationalism, if you try to state things rationally people don't listen... or well, thats the theory, the news rarely tries to be rational to find out :P
