Yep. Looks like all Alberta schools are closing for the year... it's what the government is saying anyways. New York and other states are considering it as well.
I'm happy to see EVERYONE pulling together to shut this down, but honestly there is so much more we could have done prior to keep it from spreading like it is. Something as simple as stockpiling masks and ventilators in case of emergency. North America spends trillions on national defense, hoping to protect from foreign invaders, but the spending on disease control is 0.001% of that. But look at the effect a virus is having on the world. Should we not shift focus slightly and start investing in prevention? Hopefully this is a massive wake up call, because I don't think it will be too long before we see something like this again and there's a chance the next one is more fatal than COVID-19.
