I saw a documentary where these scientist knew a small volcano was going to blow. They camped nearby and watched it day and night with cameras running 24/7.
When it did finally blow, the video they captured was spectacular.
But the reason I remember this documentary in particular was the sounds. The rumbling of the volcano, the thunder in the dust cloud and the lava plopping back down to the ground and in the ocean.
