I thought the same at first. A kid with no leadership experience really and not a natural leader, yet completely awkward, BUT.... they did have a point in that he can see into the past and future, so likely will know what’s going to happen before it happens. He’s able to look into the past and see shit that nobody else can.

In a kingdom still ruled by a monarchy, where the king has absolute power it probably is wise to have someone that can make decisions already knowing the outcome, or can look into an allies past to see if they can be trusted. Sure they could have made Tyrion or Jon King, but there’s no guarantee they would listen to Bran if there was a difficult decision to be made. We also know (or believe) that Bram won’t be distracted by the pussy, which has been the downfall of many kings... something we know could be an issue for Jon and Tyrion... and pretty much every male leader in GoT.

Could be that the choice was genius.

They were right to laugh at Sam for recommending democracy. We all know people in general are fucking idiots and don’t know what’s best for them.
