The truncated time table really effected the quality of this season. In the interest of moving the plot along at the rate necessary to finish the series you had too many instances of characters going against their nature or making huge changes or having huge mental retardation without it feeling "earned". This season wasn't the disaster its made out to be but definitely pales in comparison to the previous seasons when the characters and plot were fleshed out at a proper pace.
As for the ending, that peace wouldn't last long. Sansa goes all independent from the kingdoms because they fought for the freedom like they had so many years ago... Except Dorne had their freedom even longer and Yara had an agreement in place to be independent with Danny, but OK, this boring useless fucker can rule over us now while you go do your thing.
And the other kingdoms aren't supposed to get pissed that the Starks are running the Iron Throne, The North and the Nights Watch?
I love Bronn but he gets a seat on the high council in this new "put the people first" government even though he never gave a shit about anybody else and blackmailed his way into High Garden?
At least Tyrion as a peacetime Hand of the King could turn out well, he sure was crap as a war time Hand and has no more family left to effect his abilities to think. Did you know Cersei loved her kids?
