I would think rising tides would cause the most chaos for the planet. 60% of the world's population live in or near the coast. What you see in Miami would happen on a global scale and with everyone living near the coast moving. This also creates a mass immigration around the globe, which would throw the world into a tailspin on its own.
It's nothing major like a super hurricane wiping out cities all at once... when people hear "catastrophic event" they tend to think of world ending singular events that will instantly kill us all... no. It's the mad max scenario that will happen due to mass migration and massive losses of coastal areas.
