Natural disasters, such as massive volcano eruptions, extinction events like meteors or a pandemic, have all caused a lot more damage to the worlds ecosystem then we have since the industrial revolution, and each time the Earth has adapted and life continued on. My point is, Earth will be fine as long as we aren't directly putting effort into literally trying to kill the planet.... like actually making "hey let's kill the planet" a goal we all collectively put effort into.... obviously that isn't happening. As tech advances and we learn things about what is good or bad for the Earth, we're almost always putting effort into fixing it. car's spewing too much pollution? Fine, let's make them have cleaner emissions! Garbage in the ocean killing marine life? Well looks like we need to stop that shit... boom.. done! We're constantly in the process of refining and fixing our past transgressions on the Earth with our pollutions. I honestly don't think we need to dial things up to pants shitting levels just yet.
