The evidence clearly shows that the earth's climate is rising at an increased rate since the industrial revolution. What any scientist or researcher does with that information is up to them ultimately. Al Gore can predict whatever he wants, but we can only use the data provided to estimate the possible outcomes. Really, debating it any further than the climate is rising is kind of pointless, because we don't really know exactly what will happen, but we can be sure that it won't be good. The ocean rising due to melting glaciers alone is enough to fuck a lot of shit up on this planet given the population in and around coastal cities.
But yeah, it wouldn't seem too logical to conclude anything based on failed predictions, you really have to look at what has happened already and you can have a good idea of what's to come.
