But this is an impractical assessment because there ARE guns.... guns that aren't going away no matter how many new laws are made. The tougher government gets on disarming the population the harder people will push back because no one trusts government enough anymore to provide protection. And why is that? Well, just look at history.... enough said... history provides enough examples of why government is an utter failure at protecting it's citizens from each other, and/or is actively engaged in varying degrees of genocide.
At this stage of the game THE SAFE BET is to be armed and trained in the use of your "self defense device" and treat it like any other tool only this one is designed to stop someone attempting to murder you or other people you care about. With all the chaos going on in the world you'd have to be a fucking idiot to willingly disarm yourselves if "rising gun crime" is something that concerns you.
