Is this one of those events where all the scalpers bought up all the tickets?
Here in Edmonton, everything always sells out to the scalpers, including every Oilers games (despite their performance). And then you have to get tics from stub hub or the like.
What I'm saying is sold out means nothing around here except paying scalpers price. Although the scalpers cut has dropped considerably from the olden days.
I think Japan has facial recognition for event tickets to stop scalping. Live Nation and Ticketmaster say they will have facial recognition here soon.
