What statistics are you looking at Mikey? Just about every stat I see shows a huge decrease in murder and suicide rates in Australia, minus the sites like InfoWar-like "media sources" that somehow pull random stats out of their asses to show something else:

Now, there are some sites that also say that banning guns in Australia is very different than what would happen in the US for many different reasons. The main one being that American relationship with guns is much different than Australia. Which is true. But there is one guarantee for the US... if thru some miracle they were able to take all of the guns and ban gun sales, it would dramatically reduce the amount of murders in the country and would decimate the mass killings. It would not stop them... there would be vehicles plowing through groups of people... you can't stop that kind of shit no matter what you do without taking away personal freedoms.
In short, there is no easy solution here. It won't happen overnight. Maybe in a century something will change, but who knows. And yes Drak, it is good to push towards making sure it's harder to purchase semi-auto attack rifles like AR-15s and worse. Push in the right direction and someday it will be better. Someday.
