Yes that was an overly exaggerating statement, as there are about 50 things I can name that make this country pretty bad (I can do the same for many other countries too, though not all), but that is one of the main reasons. It makes it not a "safe" place to live. America is not safe, and we should be.
And yes I figured there would be one-liner responses with examples that people have been shot in countries in Asia that I didn't know about. Considering you have to literally dig for examples, those few links are completely off the point. 20 mass shootings a year + 38,000 gun-related homicides (in 2016) in America. Compared to 1-3 examples that can be shown for other countries who have banned guns, including Australia.
