I am a Chemical Engineer. I had pretty bad chemical burns on my arm and legs. I had both Caustic and Acid burns. I almost needed skin grafts for the burn on my foot.
When deciding a name for Doom, I was rubbing the burn on my arm and said CHEMICALBURN.
One of the burns was caused by failed protection equipment. Another burn by an idiot at work who didn't clean up properly after using caustic and left residue on equipment.
