Obviously not the same draft setup as say the Ducks or Lightning who sucked balls for several years after their expansion teams were created.
Still... Vegas didn’t really end up with any all star players. Yes some of them formed all star players with the exception of Marchessault maybe. I was in 3 fantasy drafts this year and I don’t think anybody grabbed Karllson until he was a free agent pick. He ended up playing spectacularly. MA Fleury ended his time in Pittsburgh playing like trash and nobody really expected their defence to be able to do anything. Look at what their blue line did with the team they have... there are 4 defencemen on that team outplaying guys like Erik Karllson and PK.
In conclusion... nobody expected them to do well this year. Nobody would have believed they would have made the playoffs outlasting teams like Pittsburgh, San Jose, LA or Anaheim and certainly nobody thought they would make it to the finals only losing what, 3 games total in the playoffs? Gotta be one, if not the top cinderalla stories in the NHL (doesn’t too miracle on ice though).
