I get that Vince Li is different than a cold blooded killer, I just don’t think it’s reaponsible to say “oh, he all good now. Have fun!†He was obviously psychotic at the time and all that, BUT ... listen to the details of what happened that night and tell me you think it’s ok for him to be trusted alone in public after 7 years. Fuck that. If that was your brother? Son? His mother suffers now and he’s free to do as he pleases, which includes take or do not take his medication. And inside that person, deep down, lives a monster that is capable of sawing off a head on a bus, with which he taunted people with for several hours while returning to the corpse to mutilate. This wasn’t a quick 20 minute ordeal, Li spent hours reading that kids body apart and walking around with his head. There were a lot of people fucked is mentally after seeing that shit... so yeah, he was insane at the time, but I don’t really care how much better they think he is... the messed up shit he did shouldn’t be brushed off after a few years as nothing.
I’m sure all of you self loathing liberals that are all for lesser sentences feel good about it until it’s a family member that is the victim. Only basic empathy for the victims and families lead you to accept that in some cases certain people should just be put down.
