I'm not saying the conversation is about pareidolia, but there are parrallels when it comes to anecdotal evidence and how that pertains to what one believes or "DECLARES". I completely agree with Tyson in that sentence. He uses the word DECLARE. For anyone to declare that there are no aliens or legit UFOs in the universe is illogical because nobody on earth today could possibly know that. You'll also notice that Tyson will never "DECLARE" that there are aliens and UFOs. He's utterly agnostic when it comes to things like religion and aliens because he's a scientist and requires some kind of evidence before he will put his faith or trust in anything. Like a wise scientist he will not accept pictures or stories from individual people, nor will he accept the declaration of several people that now believe in UFOs and aliens because they saw something in the sky that they can't identify. Like I said, there's usually a logical explanation for everything. If there are UFOs and they are visiting our planet then they are super stealthy and have been avoiding us seeing or finding them for many years. So I find it hard to believe that they would just be out in the open flying around some fighter pilots willy nilly. I won't declare one way or the other until there is actual proof or evidence to sway my opinion. |
