I really want to play Cuphead. It's next on my list. The art is spectacular. Probably the best art direction in a game since Bioshock 1, aka in the last 10 years.
I agree that Dead Cells Art can be a big turn off for many. I rarely play games that feel like theyre from the 90's. But it's just soooooo good. I finally beat it for the first time last night. (Keep in mind, you only get 1 life).
Hollow Knight though... those graphics are 2017 for sure, despite it being 2D. The graphics are even better than Trine 3, probably. The atmosphere is so haunting. Game of the Year 2017 imo!
