Destiny 1 is the game I've played more than any other in the last several years.
The core is good.
Good gunplay.
Offhand grenades.
Powerful melee.
Some abilities and movement mechanics.
It suffers a bit on the MMO/RPG side... their progression model and loot was just okay.
