Drak, I watched 5 seasons of GoT before I started reading the first book. I'm actually glad I did it that way because it was easier for me to follow the characters once I could put a face to them. I'm not a huge reader, but I thoroughly enjoyed all 5 books even after watching it on TV. There's so much more in the books that the show doesn't cover, so it doesn't really matter.
Besides, you could get hit by a bus tomorrow and never would have seen the first episode of season 7. Do you really want to risk dying without seeing new GoT shit? I don't.
