Friedman supported a form of basic income in the 70s but it was intended to replace all other forms of welfare and would not have been sufficient to live on on its own.
Yes my one line answer is meaningless but like I said there's no point in getting into this here. It's pointless to argue about conclusions like this when the reason we arrive at different conclusions is because we start with different premises. Well just talk past each other.
