Yeah, I wish I had some place like that niall or could call a place like that. I love this system and honestly think I could get another 2 years out of it.

Turns out it is not a bad capacitor. I did call around to some places and found a guy that did soldering starting at $80 to just do it.
However, when I did my tear down I realized what I was looking at was not what I thought to be a blown capacitor. Well, my buddy that was over helped talk sense to me.
Besides an alternate board, I cannot think of anything else to try troubleshooting wise.
It spins fine when connected to an alternate fan port, but there is a protection that doesn't let the CPU get voltage if the CPU Fan is detected as missing. Inspection on the board, without a voltmeter, did not net any shorts or other findings. |
