It's unknown territory. I think the idea that someone like Trump could actually get elected never crossed the minds of the founding fathers. That somehow the wisdom of the electorate would prevent an unsuitable candidate from winning the election. Of course they probably never envisioned foreign interference combined with domestic interference and a populist backlash all occurring at the same time.
My prediction is impeachment before the year is out unless Trump pulls his horns in and actually tries to be Presidential, which I doubt he can do, his whole life has been one long reality TV show with him as the star. He doesn't seem to have any self control, he doesn't seem to realize how his constant lying erodes his authority as President, the list goes on and on.
