Subject: RE: The Young Pope

There was something about this show that I enjoyed, but couldn't put my finger on. It's that it portrays these moments of mass revelation in a mundane way. Typically these moments on tv are produced in a dramatic fashion, but in the young pope the big reveals are non chalant and just in passing conversation. Plot twists and shocking discoveries with no fanatical overtures. Then you see the mundane scene produced dramatically. Scenes like nuns doing laundry with a symphony playing behind it.

It's an interesting production method that is fresh. You can't ignore the basic plot because you might miss something crucial.
