Subject: Dollars and Media

I think it was mentioned in a thread below: What media sources can really be trusted? Seems like practically non are completely unbiased or neutral.

TL;DR;:
Subscribe to https://www.reddit.com/r/neutralnews/
Call out bullshit and bias where you see it.
Seek neutral sources or both sides. Educate, don't polarize and troll...all the time ;)

I'm not perfect at being neutral/unbiased just as the media never will be but we can all try together to meet a little more in the center and spend less time filtering out or trying to correct the record of bullshit, by not supporting bullshit media. You can start by sharing neutral articles on /r/neutralnews and your social media feeds. Take a look at the related subreddits / reading their wikis too.

In Sunday's John Oliver episode, between bouts of crying about Trump he said some things that made sense, be you left or right.

Speak with your dollars, contribute to and support organizations/causes that might take a hit this term - obviously do your research when donating to charities too. Another way is watch who you give your cash to daily; e.g. avoid companies that support/enable 'clean' coal bullshit if Trumps EPA guy pisses you off. Not an easy task I know, it probably requires work and research to know where to put your dollars, shit...if only you could trust the media to report on topics like this for you. :( Oliver also suggested getting involved politically outside the 4 year presidential cycle.

Sadly one of Oliver's suggestions for supporting journalistic institutions immediately afterwards was the Washington post and NY times, both super biased Hillary propaganda machines during the election (and after) almost on par with Oliver him self...fuck that. Some of the charities he mentioned are OK if those are your jam.

Oliver's piece on supporting organizations that maybe hurt this term is here https://youtu.be/-rSDUsMwakI?t=1124

Oliver's piece on media right before that one is ironic as fuck (partly inspired me to call his shit out here): https://youtu.be/-rSDUsMwakI?t=575

Oliver talks about the media and trump's lies that were really lack of fact checking / pushing spin from both. Oliver cites 'lies' where Trump claims he trusted the media he got it from...So you're calling him a serial liar when it looks like he just got lied to by the media or bought into stats that got disproved later. Who can't relate to that?

Way to be super partisan you left half of American loving Brit.
