Drak, do you honestly think the American people have any choice? It's a 2 party system. The only ones that can change the way things are are both parties and it's against their own best interest. You won't wake up 300 million people for change, it's just unfeasible at this point, so yeah, it is the government's fault. They have office and that won't change regardless of what people want.
