A lot of people bitch about TF2, but it's still one of the most fun games around. Definitely the best F2P game around especially since all the pay options are completely cosmetic alone.
TF2 recently released a competitive mode, which I haven't tried yet, but it looks like a start to finish version of the game, not just jump in and play.
