TS, They're both CLIs for quick fixes (that shouldn't take an entire program to fix) which expose lots of small single purpose interfaces with awesome redirection support to bridge commands/cmdlets together. One came long before the other but they do behave quite differently. So yeah, 'nothing to do with one another'.

Zores seems like he knows what he's talking about w/ES. You use ELK or something similar? zgrep and zless are both awesome too and tie in well to my command and archived logs. +1
