A few warnings:
1) Most people want to do heists silently. How your team will want to finish a mission can be deduced based on how they are geared at the pre-mission screen. If you have one or more people wearing a suit you can guarantee they will leave a mission the second an alarm goes off. This is also why it's recommended to play with friends.
2) Doing missions silently is the most rewarding experience in the game, by far, it can also be one of the most frustrating experiences ever. This is compounded when you have teams that constantly leave the missions.
