Right, so all those socialist countries in Europe are on their way to communism. Oh wait, there are no communist countries anymore, but there are plenty of socialist ones. You need to rethink that a bit.
The goal of the EU, if there is one, is to unite Europe economically so that there won't be another world war. After two of them people figured there would be a third if they didn't do something about it.
Maybe the EU does go too far with its rulemaking, but that should be fixable from within. Leaving is just going to hurt England economically and politically. Especially when Scotland and other bits of the UK decide the EU is preferable.
