That was seriously dumb. I like how he blames the inevitable economic downturn the Brexit will cause on the inevitable recession the EU is causing. That is a built in safety net excuse.
Plus, it seems the main anger is about immigration, but the UK is going to have to keep its borders open anyway in order to keep them open both ways, otherwise its citizens will not be able to go to the EU without getting a visa.
The promises made by the Leave side are already being broken. Case in point, the millions of pounds sent every week to the EU, most of which gets sent back, was going to the NHS, Farage has already said that money will not go to the NHS.
The EU does have its problems of course, and the UK will manage on its own, but it will not do as well and it will see a recession caused by leaving and it will not get the benefits it imagines.
