The Hound is alive only by vengeance. He said last episode that he keeps fighting to stay alive only by the hope of revenge. His brother, who burnt his face and terrorized him most of his life is the target of that vengeance and I'm pretty sure we will see him fight the mountain by the end of it. I hope so anyways.
