pretty good so far? I actually had zero intention of buying it but bought for my Dad since Doom has a special place in his heart.
I'm only a few hours into single player, but the pace, movement, feel is surprisingly good. In the early gameplay footage I saw I remember thinking the over-emphasis on melee was a huge disapointment but I have to say I was wrong..the glory kill mechanic really feels like its woven into the flow of combat really well, doesn't detract at all.
basically just a great pure action shooter.
