yeah. some new development areas may lay fiber to the house, but that will also depend on how much the developer is willing to chip out of their profits or increase prices.

fiber is spreading in the cities, but very slowly. worst part about fiber is the conduit, which could be company owned, city owned or privately owned or a combo which really expands the costs of laying a line from a trunk to house.

best way to get fiber in a neighborhood is to get the majority of people around you to participate and cut a deal w/ century link. to run a branch line to a central part of the hood. shrugs+
