Subject: RE: File Sync programs

Here are your stinking guis, recommended by some commercial backup site. Look at all those steps to set it up :

https://www.rsync.net/resources/howto/backupassist.html

Personally my windows is not on all the time but my lower power linux NAS is. I'd have windows periodically schedule an rsync task (or kick a remote script to mount a win folder share & rsync) to a NAS folder and have the NAS storage selectively cloud sync periodically or btsync. This would be a be fully forward OS compatible solution and you wouldn't have to go hunting for a windows 11 compatible backup program in 5 years when your current free vapor warez break.

I've got the linux experience to easily handle this task and agree linux doesn't always go smoothly (that part CAN be fun, others not, always learning something though) but anyone can pick this stuff up and it is very liberating and rewarding IMO.

If you guys ever need help with linux I'm available.
