i saw the doc as just wanting to show all the police/legal corruption in the cases with a point of view that they are innocent. Once you research deeper its reasonable to say Avery is guilty, as for the kid its hard to say just how involved he really was because there is no evidence putting him at the scene and he is easily coerced, who's to say that he wasn't told things off camera by the cops/his attorneys.
