Eh... I dunno if you can pin all that on consoles, that is the way games are going.
PC games are getting dumbed down too. All you need to do is look at Blizzard who, you can't blame Consoles on as they are definitely a PC primary company, and see that games like World of Warcraft, StarCraft 2, Hearthstone, Diablo 3 are all aimed towards the masses and are constantly being dumbed down/made more casual friendly.
I stand by my statement, without the money from the Console crowd that PC gamers love to hate on a lot of the games as you know them wouldn't exist, they simply wouldn't have the budgets to.
