I was considering a hornet ghost as my alternate since I'm sure I'm gonna get blown to bits in the lancer once in awhile.
And they have said it's not an instant re-spawn with insurance, have to wait for delivery of new frame, but I figure you'd need a group to play with to make the ghost really effective.
I'd love to eventually get in with a group that has an indris or a javelin, but I doubt that will happen for a long while.
