It may be that I just replaced a cheapo monitor, but the new 4k monitor was a better experience in 1080p just on a like for like.
Planetside 2 does support 4k reso, so, I did play that game with it. There was some tearing going on with really fast mouse movements, but the expanded resolution is really quite cool. Textures look SOOOOO much better both players and environments.
