Pope assuming you like Survivor if you're into this stuff.Can't remember if you've specifically posted about it. If you like games of this nature you should check out the Genius. Korean game show. It's the craziest/best reality game show of this nature. First season is subbed on youtube and then the others are easy to find. The first season has some slow moments but I still really enjoyed it. The future seasons games are much more complex and interesting.
I love games like these but like you said, takes a certain crowd to get the most out of them. In our groups we play more low-key versions like Cosmic Encounters/King of Tokyo. We recently did play a game called Shadow Hunters though that was pretty good and more in the vein you're talking.
I've also heard people talk about Secret Hitler on reddit that sounds like a neat version of these games. I haven't tried it myself though.
