i play once a week with a group of 5-7 people and we prefer to play games with hidden objectives or a hidden traitor. these games only work with people who are analytical and will put in effort to try and win
right now our best game is "room 25" expansion season 2, we switch out some of the easier tiles for harder ones and it plays great because you are often not sure if someone is on your team or not. and it plays well for 5-8 players which is rare.
coup is another good one but its short, but plays well for 5-7
dead of winter we just got and played twice so far, it seems good but first time was too difficult when we had a traitor and second time was too easy when we didnt, often games get like that and we make them harder
dark moon is good, but i would try all of the above games before playing
shadows over camelot with expansion got a good number of plays last year for us but we found the game balance to be off no matter how we tweaked the game
panic station is another one that we cant figure out a game balance for but plays well the first number of times you play it
