Subject: RE: So..... We're not going to talk about it?

I was attending an elementary school 3 miles away from [this](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockton_schoolyard_shooting) shooting.

Saying mass shootings are a new thing, or saying you don't remember them being reported, is silly. Remember the big news cycle before 9/11 on CNN was 'shark attacks, how will you keep safe this summer'. 3 people died that year from shark attacks (from 50 attacks)... yet we got 24/7 news cycles for it.

Thanks to ratings based news, whatever gets the most views is what they are going to lead with. They want numbers. Pure and simple. The gun issue will be replaced soon with the war on xmas, followed by Presidential Primaries, and then the same roller coaster of every 4 years (abortion, roe v wade, planned parenthood, illegal immigrants, main st vs wall st, tax plans, Iran policy)

Now for guns, high capacity mags are illegal in California, yet the San Bernardino shooters had them. Pipebombs are illegal, yet they had them too. Making things illegal doesn't make them disappear. Making 'assault rifles' illegal wont stop criminals from getting them. They will bring them in from Mexico.

Mexico has strict gun laws... yet whats the first thing you picture when I say 'Mexican Drug Cartel' ... is it a bunch of dudes throwing bananas at each other? Fuck no.

Brazil has strict gun laws, yet incredibly high murder rates due to guns. Approximately 80 percent of the weapons manufactured in Brazil are exported, many of these weapons are then smuggled back into Brazil.

Look at the shootings in California vs Texas. California has much stricter laws, fewer people possessing guns, yet higher gun related deaths, even per capita. Regulating guns does not change stats.

If you are going to regulate, you must do so fully, just like Australia. That's not going to happen here.

Regulating a lil wont stop bad shit from happening.
Regulating a lot wont stop bad shit from happening.
Regulating fully wont stop bad shit form happening.

The President was right. We are kicking ass, stopping big plots, so now we have to deal with these radicals. This is no different then what the IRA was doing in the 80's. Guns/Bombs were illegal there too =P

It's just something we are going to have to live with. Changing our Rights because of a few nuts, out of 320 million people, is just stupid. Literally 0.000001% of the population is psycho, and any law you make affecting 100% of the population is not going to change that.

There have been 3 school shootings in the US since 1990.
There have been 4 school shootings in Europe in the same time.

While its easy to say 'just get rid of the guns', like Jim Jefferies suggests, we all can logically see that it doesn't actually stop gun violence, or crazy fuckheads, from killing people.
