Drak, you're completely wrong on this. There is no obvious correlation between gun control and gun murder rates. There are countries with low control and low murder, high control and low murder, high murder and low control, and high murder and high control. This is even visible within the US alone with the different policies.

You make an extremely naive assumption that because there exist many countries with tight control and low murder, that the control is the responsible variable. But you can't find anywhere in the world that has had a problem with gun murder, then introduced gun control, then saw a reduction in the murders. In fact, there are actually examples of the exact opposite - where an increase in murders follows the introduction of controls.

This should be very intuitive to you if you look at the analogy of drug prohibition. Drug prohibition does not stop criminals from getting drugs. It CANNOT stop this. It is a proven failure. Who does drug prohibition actually affect? People for whom the desire to obey the law outweights their desire for drugs.

The same exact phenomenon is present with gun control. Unfortunately, those who would like to use guns to commit heinous crimes are not deterred by the much less severe prohibition on acquiring guns.

They want to kill people Drak. They're not going to obey the law. And as drug prohibition shows, it is not possible to effectively restrict mere accessibility.

It's clear as day.
