Gun Violence down however mass shootings are increasing. I've heard a lot of people say that they aren't increasing it is just the media coverage but that just doesn't feel true at all, this shit seems to happen like bi-weekly, rewind 20 years and I don't even remember hearing about these things at all.

Either way, gun control isn't the sole answer. It certainly can't hurt to put tighter restrictions on things but there are just too many guns for it to have any real immediate effect. IMO It has to be some sort of mental health issue and the way people are wired in the US. Of course mental health is health care and the people doing these things don't always seem to be the best off financially so can they even help themselves if they wanted to? For the most part the same folks against gun control are also against reforming health care so thats not likely going to change anytime soon either.
