Exactly... today it is about giving thanks for what we have in our lives.... simple as that. Just like how Christianity took a pagan holiday tradition and wove it into their own.
Christmas is not entirely about Jesus these days either it is just as much about a date on the calendar where families and friends gather to express their love for each other and give gifts, as it is about Christ and his symbolic birth/resurrection/sacrifice/whatever.
