Probably best not to learn too much about the show before watching, definitely don't look online for plot summary's or anything.
It's basically about: A small town butcher and his wife, 2 rival gangs (Minnesota vs Kansas) and small town cops. The plot doesn't cover the movie at all, but the direction and characters are similar. Especially the cops. Watch season 1 as well, it's excellent.
This season was especially cool to watch as the small town that the butcher and his wife live in is mostly filmed in Fort McLeod Alberta, which is 15 minutes from where I grew up. I recognized the town immediately and all the buildings, was very cool to see on a large set like that.
