I saw a ton of posts with that exact thing, that we should have been posting about Kenya back when it happened in April, but honestly, there are so many reasons why we didn't. A huge one is that the media can't safely get out there to film without putting themselves in major danger. Meanwhile in France, we can come and go anywhere as we please with cameras in hand.
Also, even though Kenyans like Americans for the most part, Kenya isn't our #1 Ally in the world. They didnt give us the Statue of Liberty. Nothing like that. We could consider them our friends, but moreso like Admirers if we want to be truly realistic.
The reason very few people in the west care about Africa is because there is very little there to care about. It's definitely harsh, but it's the truth. It's a land of festering, hard-to-fix problems. That's why they only attack themselves, and you'd rarely see ISIS performing a large scale attack operation there.
