^^ Actually for me it's travelers fandom. It's about the geography, not the literal team (in many, many cases). Sometimes its the team. I don't have anything really against the Mets... I just am not into New York, at all.
Anyway, yeah Hollow, you can read Faith's explanation and then substitute "NE" for "California" and it's semi true for me. I think his hate must be much larger than mine. I don't have hate, just dislike and lack of interest. East Coast vs. West Coast and stuff like that.
If it were the Mets vs the Yankees in the world series, I would have rooted for the Mets a million times before rooting for the Yankees. That would be something I would probably not watch with much enthusiasm.
